Hwaro Korean Steakhouse Brings a Bold Korean Steakhouse Experience to Senopati

At a glance, the unassuming facade at Jl. Suryo No. 56 gives little away. But step inside Hwaro, and you're greeted not just by the soft glow of its wine cellar or the cold, sculptural beauty of the dry ager—it’s the smell of marinated Wagyu on the grill that sets the tone.

Spanning four floors, Hwaro reimagines the Korean steakhouse as an elevated dining ritual. With room for up to 180 guests, it invites a slow, curated journey—starting at the bar, where a drink or two sets the mood, and leading into the spacious Main Dining area. Ten grills dot the floor, each one manned by Hwaro’s dedicated Grill Masters who quietly orchestrate the perfect doneness, bite after bite.

At the heart of it all is the meat. Hwaro is home to Indonesia’s largest dry ager, showcasing MB 8–9 Wagyu cuts—from sirloin to ribeye, T-bone to porterhouse—all dry-aged, then marinated for 48 hours before hitting the grill. Served with a trio of salts and signature sauces, the flavours are deep, clean, and undeniably indulgent.

But this isn’t a one-note menu. Seafood—scallops, squid, salmon, prawns, lobster—rounds out the selection. And for the K-drama faithful, there’s comfort in the familiar: Tteokbokki, Japchae, Kimchi Jjigae, and the rich, film-famous A5 & Foie Jjapaguri.

Upstairs, each level reveals a different mood. A mezzanine view from the second floor offers a peek into the energy below, while terracotta-toned VIP rooms channel Korean traditional kitchens—each with its own restroom and the flexibility to host intimate groups or larger gatherings. The third floor opens into a communal U-shaped table set against soft lighting and high circular ceilings, while the top floor blends modern lines with muted greens and beige. The largest private room here feels more like a chef’s studio, anchored by its own grill island.

In a neighbourhood where restaurants come and go, Hwaro arrives with quiet confidence—its offering clear, its execution precise. Whether you're chasing a cinematic K-BBQ moment or just a damn good cut of steak, you’ll likely find it here.
